Android Based Smart Parking System Using Slot Allocation & Reservations

Renuka R. and S. Dhanalakshmi proposed smart parking system using infrared sensor, liquid crystal diode(LCD), light emitting diode(LED), radio-frequency identification (RFID) module and program integrated circuit. This smart parking system has been configured to detect cars and give feedback to the user by lighting the LED and display on LCD and android phone.

The infrared sensor that been used to detect cars is sharp GP2Y0A710K0F. This journal stated that this infrared sensor will sense the light wavelength of its surroundings by either emitting or detecting infrared spectrum. It also capable of measuring heat being emitted by an object and detection motion. This GP2Y0A710K0F is commonly used and also can detect an obstacle within ranges of 100cm to 500cm. LED will be glow with respect to the IR sensor detection. Green LED and Red LED will glow represent the status of parking.

Radio frequency identification tag is an electronic tag that exchanges data with a RFID reader. RFID used primarily for inventory tracking in environment or payment and card credit replacement. There are two type of RFID tag. Passive tag collect energy from a nearby RFID reader’s through radio waves. Active tags have a power resource and may operate hundreds of meters from the RFID reader.

As a subject that this journal focus in, the researcher choose android as an output to display the slot allocation and reservations. The android application is created using Android studio and developed using JAVA code. Using JAVA compiler the source files are converted to JAVA class files.

As a control processing unit, the researcher choose programmable integrated circuit PIC16F877A. PIC16F877A will action based on coding burn into it.

For the working principle, Renuka R. and S.Dhanalakshmi stated that if the infrared sensor at top a parking spot detect an obstacles, it will send data to control processing unit and the data will be send to output ( LCD, LED and Android phone). However, the data received from the sensor will be determined based the distance detected since the infrared sensor is a range finder sensor. The RFID tag used for carried out the billing process.

Result and Analysis:
As a result, i know how this project works and the method used in this journal.

Conclusion :
As a conclusion, i would like to thank to the writer of this journal. i understand how the project outcomes.
